Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion shout O daughter of Jerusalem behold thy King [Psalm 47:2] comes to thee He is just, and having salvation He is humble and riding upon a donkey and upon a colt the foal of donkey [Fulfilled Messianic Prophecy—Matthew 21.1-11; Mark 11.1-11; John 12.12-19]
Comments: Zechariah 9:9 Godhead YHWH is the Great King over all the earth Psalm 47:2. Israel sinned in demanding that Samuel give them a human king to be over them instead of YHWH ELOHIM. God granted their demand in giving them an earthly king, but there was and is only one Heavenly King, and that is YHWH ELOHIM, the Almighty.
Messiah is the Almighty. Isaiah said so in Isaiah 9:6, calling Jesus the Everlasting Father (Father of Eternity). John confirmed it in John 1:1,14, and Jesus stated clearly who he was in Revelation 1:8. Jesus called himself the First Last. Called himself the Lord in Koine Greek texts—which all scholars agree the New Testament was written in. Called himself the Lord God in classical Greek texts. Called himself the one who is (alive), was (dead), and is coming again. Called himself the Almighty Revelation 1:8. Jesus is YHWH.

Note from the editor: I read my Bible every day, always picking up today where I left off yesterday. I have been doing that for over 44 years. The posts on this column will usually come one-three times per week (and will usually be short) with notes on whatever passage I happen be reading on that particular day.
