Hear another parable There was a certain person who was a home-ruler who planted a vineyard and hedged it round about and dug a winepress in it and home-built a tower and rented it out to farmers and went into a far country
Comments: Matthew 21:33 Jesus is speaking to Israel in this verse, but the message is valid for Believers today. Let’s talk about this tower that was both a home and a military fortress for God’s people: Thy Maker is thy husband. The LORD is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and are safe.
Just because Bible translators may not theologically understand or agree with a word or phrase is no excuse for them to leave it out of translations. Understanding that the master of the home was building a tower that was also meant to be a home, changes perspective.
Homes are all about relationships; they are not intended to be made into mini-organizations, each with their own president and vice president, nor are gatherings of the Out-Called, ** which is composed of both Jews and Gentiles individually and collectively of all Believers from the days of The Twelve through today.
The LORD is both a strong tower and a home for the Out-Called, and homes are all about relationships. Jesus did not say he was creating an organization when he said “Upon this rock I will home-build my Out-Called. He clearly stated that he was building a home—a living breathing organism—a home that he is still building today, of living stones.”
This home is also an army. Put on the whole armor of God…. Only soldiers need armor, and soldiers in the army of the LORD, win battles through truth, humility. and faith. Selah….
** Though the Out-Called are the Israel of God Galatians 6:16, this does not negate the plans our Creator still has for Jacob, who is physical Israel (see video study of Daniel’s Seventy Weeks. Print study HERE).

Note from the editor: I read my Bible every day, always picking up today where I left off yesterday. I call this my “on-track” Bible reading. I have been doing this for over 44 years. It was the best advice I was ever given, and it changed my life. If you are not presently doing the same, I invite you to join me. How much you read on a daily basis isn’t important. It only matters that you read, feeding your spirit with a prayerful dose of the living and powerful Word of God.
