Who is the “We” Jesus refers to in John 3:11?
John 3:10-11
Jesus answered and said to him Are you a teacher of Israel and know not these things Truly, truly I say to you We speak that We do know and testify [to] that We have seen and you receive not Our witness
Comments: John 3:11 Theologians say Jesus is referring to himself and the Holy Spirit.
What?!? Where is the third member of the Godhead in this watery explanation?
John wrote that there are three in heaven. Over 5000 extant (still existing) texts attest to this. So, where is the scriptural basis for countless theologians claiming that Jesus was only referring to himself and the Holy Spirit in this verse? And why would they say such a thing, when in John 3:11, Jesus is clearly speaking as the Godhead, … yet this goes virtually unacknowledged by scholars.
Why?
My thought is that to acknowledge Jesus is speaking as the Triune Godhead, presents a challenge to hierarchical religionists, who claim that Jesus—the Creator of all things, the Aleph Tav of Genesis 1:1 [Missler], and the Alpha and Omega, the Almighty of Revelation 1:8—is a subordinate God.
No matter how you cut it, that view makes Jesus a lesser god and turns the triunity of the Triune Godhead into a mere triad of little gods.
But Jesus is Jehovah. The Elohim of Genesis 1:1 and the Almighty of Revelation 1:8.

Note from the editor: I read my Bible every day, always picking up today where I left off yesterday. I call this my “on track” Bible reading. I have been doing this for over 44 years. It was the best advice I was ever given, and it changed my life. If you are not presently doing the same, I invite you to join me. How much you read on a daily basis isn’t important. It only matters that you read, feeding your spirit with a prayerful dose of the living and powerful Word of God.
